If Surestop has already been fitted and operated without issue but suddenly stops working,
there a few simple things to check which will resolve this.
Ensure that the blue twin-bore tubing is routed with no kinks or obstructions and
meets the maximum distance limits:
- Check along the entire length that there are no kinks in the blue twin-bore
pipe; including the entrance to the remote switch assembly. - Check that the blue twin-bore pipe has not become pinched in between
kitchen cupboard shelving or door openings. - Ensure that the length of the blue twin-bore pipe does not exceed 6 metres
from the Surestop valve to the remote switch.
Surestop is ideal for use as part of a new or retrofit installation but is best installed in addition to a traditional stopcock. This is because some local water undertakers/providers insist on
the installation of a “screw down” type stop cock. When installed alongside a traditional stop cock, that means you still have the benefit of faster isolation of the water supply with
Surestop but also remain compliant with the requirements of your water undertaker/supplier.
Available in 15mm, 22mm, compression and push-fit connection types, as well as in a 25mm MDPE connection, Surestop is suitable for installations within all domestic and light commercial applications.
Unlike traditional stopcocks Surestop can instantly isolate the supply of water with a flick of a switch, either on the stopcock itself or via the remote switch assembly. Being a fully plastic construction type, Surestop will also not seize like traditional stopcocks ensuring that the mains can always be isolated when you need to most.
The Surestop can be easily installed by a plumbing professional or competent DIY’er. The stop cock valve installs using common plumbing techniques and connection types typical with most normal stop tap connections.

Surestop is available in a number of combinations. The Surestop stop cock can be purchased as a stand-alone valve with the integrated switch being used to turn the mains
cold water supply on or off. Alternatively, the Surestop stop cock can be purchased with a remote switch with a 2-metre connection kit.
For Surestops purchased with the remote switch; This can then be extended up to 4 metres or 6 metres by adding a further 2 metres or 4 metres of twin-bore tubing with the purchase of
Surestop twin-bore tubing accessory kits.
Stand-alone Surestop valves can also be upgraded with either a 2 metre or 4 metre remote switch accessory kit.
*The Surestop must not be installed with the twin-bore tubing any greater than 6 metres from the remote switch.*
Surestop requires no electricity supply to operate meaning it can be easily installed by a plumbing professional or competent DIY’er. The stop cock valve installs using common plumbing techniques and connection types typical with most normal stop tap connections.
Surestop is a fully WRAS approved stop cock for use on above ground, mains fed cold water supplies up to 10 bar working pressure.

Surestop is a WRAS approved stop cock with a maximum operating pressure of 10bar.
The design of the internal bore within Surestop has been developed to optimise the diaphragm operation with the switching mechanism and is therefore smaller than some full-bore stop tap designs. For installations with mid to low mains cold operating pressures, some reduction in flow rate may be experienced.
Surestop operates by a pressure differential either side of a diaphragm located within the valve. When the water supply is switched back on after installation, the flexible twin-bore
tubing between the switch and valve fills up with pressurised cold mains water. Operating the remote switch or the switch on the valve itself, increases/decreases the pressure on
either side of the diaphragm to turn the water supply on or off.
